Adorable Sunscreen Dolls Teach Kids About Sun Protection

A UV-sensitive doll turns red in the sun without protection.
Parents know all too well that applying and reapplying sunscreen on kids isn’t easy. It can turn a fun day in the sun into a major power struggle.
So this ingenious Nivea campaign set out to teach kids about the importance of wearing sunscreen, with a UV-sensitive doll turns sunburn red when exposed to the sun.
Watch the kid’s reaction when they apply sunscreen to their dolls that are then protected, and the redness disappears. This is a fun, and pretty ingenious way of teaching children the importance of applying sunscreen.
"Protecting and caring is something we learn from an early age. This emotional bond is what this Nivea action offers," said Joanna Monteiro, creative vice president at FCB Brasil, the advertising agency that launched the campaign with Nivea. "Through the magic of technology, children can see the sun's effect on the skin of the doll."
Always keep your family sun-safe with:
- Sunscreen on exposed skin
- A hat and sunglasses
- Sun protective clothing. The most effective form of sun protection!
